This guide walks a BigCommerce store owner through installing Convertmax and confirming that the integration is ready to collect storefront activity and revenue data.

Before you install

You need:

  • permission to install apps in the BigCommerce store
  • access to every storefront you want to verify
  • a Convertmax account email for support and account communication

Convertmax requests access to the store data required for analytics, order attribution, webhook delivery, and storefront script installation. Multi-Storefront stores also grant read-only access to Sites and Routes so Convertmax can install tracking on each storefront.

Install Convertmax

  1. Open the Convertmax listing in the BigCommerce App Marketplace.
  2. Select Get this app and choose the store where you want to install it.
  3. Review the requested permissions and select Confirm.
  4. BigCommerce opens Convertmax inside the control panel.
  5. Open Manage Plan, select a plan, and complete the BigCommerce-hosted checkout.
  6. Return to Convertmax and select Refresh if the selected plan is not yet shown as active.

After billing is active, Convertmax completes the initial setup automatically:

  • connects the BigCommerce store to Convertmax
  • installs the analytics script on each storefront
  • registers order, product, and customer webhooks
  • starts the initial catalog, customer, and order sync

Verify installation

The three status cards at the top of the embedded app should show Configured:

  1. Convertmax connection confirms merchant registration.
  2. Storefront tracking confirms the storefront script is installed.
  3. Revenue sync confirms the initial resource sync is ready.

Then verify live activity:

  1. Open each storefront in a new browser tab.
  2. Visit several product and category pages.
  3. Return to Apps > Convertmax > Tracking Health.
  4. Select Refresh and confirm recent storefront events appear.

New or updated BigCommerce scripts can take a short time to appear on a storefront. Wait briefly and repeat the check before troubleshooting.

Multi-Storefront stores

Convertmax installs and reconciles a separate analytics script for every BigCommerce storefront site. When you add a storefront later, reopen Convertmax so setup can discover it and install tracking.

Verify every storefront individually:

  1. Visit the storefront.
  2. Load several pages.
  3. Return to Tracking Health and refresh.
  4. Confirm activity from the expected storefront.

The script is categorized as Analytics so BigCommerce can apply the merchant’s consent settings consistently.

Catalyst and headless storefronts

BigCommerce Script Manager does not inject scripts into a headless Catalyst frontend. Open Settings > Catalyst / headless in Convertmax and follow the generated @convertmax/react setup instructions for the storefront application.

Troubleshooting

A status remains pending

  • Select Refresh.
  • Confirm the Unified Billing checkout completed.
  • Reopen Convertmax from Apps in the BigCommerce control panel.
  • If the app was installed before a permission update, uninstall and reinstall it to grant the current scopes.

Storefront events do not appear

  • Verify that you visited the correct storefront.
  • Check the storefront’s consent banner and allow analytics cookies.
  • Disable browser extensions that block analytics for one test.
  • Wait briefly for Script Manager changes to propagate, then refresh Tracking Health.

One storefront is missing

Reopen Convertmax after the storefront is created. If it remains missing, reinstall the app so it has the current Sites and Routes permission, then contact support with the store hash and storefront domain.

Uninstall

In BigCommerce, open Apps > My Apps, find Convertmax, and select Uninstall. BigCommerce removes app-created scripts automatically, and Convertmax processes the uninstall callback to disconnect the store.
